About
Nestled in the heart of San Juan del Río, Pozoleria La Fuente del Maiz is a culinary gem that celebrates the rich tradition of pozole, a beloved Mexican dish. Located at Av de los Patos 142, this establishment has earned a reputation for serving up some of the finest pozole in the area, with customers consistently praising the rich flavors and hearty portions.
From the moment you step inside, you might notice the modest ambiance. While the furniture may evoke a fast-food vibe, it's clear that the focus here is on the food, and that's where Pozoleria La Fuente del Maiz truly shines. Customers like A. Jonathan Soria Ramirez rave about the 'rico pozole,' while others like Carlos Rodriguez describe it as the 'most decent pozoleria' in the vicinity.
One of the standout features of this pozoleria is its affordable prices, making it accessible for families and food enthusiasts alike. Leila Ocadiz captures this essence perfectly, highlighting the 'delicious Mexican food at very good prices.' Whether you're craving a bowl of their signature pozole or curious to try the variety of other dishes, you won't leave with an empty stomach.
Your taste buds will undoubtedly be thrilled by the array of options. Many loyal patrons have shared their fondness for the leg toasts and various snacks, adding to the depth of the dining experience. JESUS FERRER notes the noteworthy desserts and the exceptional pot coffee infused with cinnamon—an ideal accompaniment to the hearty meals.
However, like any establishment, there are areas for improvement. Some feedback has pointed out occasional inconsistencies, such as a watery pozole, but these instances have done little to tarnish the restaurant's overall acclaim. A slight hiccup in service has also been mentioned by returning diners, indicating room for operational enhancement. Yet, the inviting flavors and warm atmosphere keep patrons returning for more.
In conclusion, Pozoleria La Fuente del Maiz not only serves exceptional pozole but also embodies the spirit of traditional Mexican cuisine with its variety of dishes and welcoming prices. It remains a top choice for those craving authentic flavors in a casual setting, reaffirming its place in the hearts and stomachs of its loyal clientele.

“ Delicious Mexican Food at very good prices ”
“ Despite being a restaurant (pozoleria) with very austere furniture, like a fast food restaurant. I have been a customer for 6 years and since then, everything has always been delicious. It also has an unbeatable quality-price ratio, there are super varied dishes, so there is something for all tastes. The desserts are wonderful, accompanied by a pot coffee with cinnamon uffff!!! They sell prepared drinks and the cuts of meat with enchiladas are magnificent, the pozole, which is their specialty, the best I have ever tried, although the last time, it was a little watery or had burned a little (it tasted something like that). The service is great, the only thing I didn't like at all was that there are only kids of waiters, there is no captain or anyone else in charge and they took my bill 3 times wrong (they were charging me too much) and the bill was in one order, a problem that can be easily solved by adding a program with a monitor to enter orders and draw up bills. The approximate cost per person is 250. Without a doubt in my top 3 favorite places to eat. ”
“ Good portions. The leg toasts are my favorites. I feel like I have tasted the pozole better. ”
“ In my opinion, it's the most decent pozoleria in San Juan. The pozole is very good. It's not extraordinary, but it's by far the best I've tried in the area. It would be great if they had a Guerrero style, but they do what they have. The tostadas de pata and other snacks are also good. ”

“ Excellent food with a variety of stews. And the pozole is excellent, along with its tostadas and salsa. ”
“ I always have a very delicious dinner in this place. My 2 and 3 year old daughters like their pozolito and I ask them for a small portion and they eat it very well. ”
